Summer 2012/13

Today was one of the coldest days so far this year. I cannot help but dream of summer, by far the best of my life.
I don't know how many of you know much about NZ beaches, but I really love them. This summer I was lucky enough to divide my time between Whangamata and Pauanui.
New Years I spent at Whangamata, a popular beach destination around this time. Me and my friends hired out a bach and spent ten days swimming and sun bathing and op shopping and it was magical.
Pauanui is a beach that is popular with older people, and is a really tiny town, with a waveless beach. It sounds terrible but I stayed at one of my closest friends house there and it was better than New Years. We saw a shark while ocean kayaking (eep!) got terribly sunburnt and just relaxed before school started again.
These holidays were some of the happiest of my life and I felt I should share.

The town is small but spread out, so Beth (left) and I (right) bike into the shops

An idyllic moment while waiting for a ferry
